The electric iteration of the Citroen C3, eC3, has shed its covers. Overall styling of the electric hatchback is the same as the standard model but with a few distinguishing elements like white exterior bits on the bumper, side skirt and the ORVM. Cabin layout is also identical, save for the gear lever which is replaced by a toggle switch. The features list of the EV is also the same as its ICE-counterpart. Pre-launch bookings will commence on January 22 and launch on February 10.
The group has invested upwards of Rs 600 crore in the Indian market through 2 factories in Tamil Nadu – Vehicle assembly plant in Thiruvallur, Engine & Transmission plant at Hosur along with R&D centre in Chennai. Citroen eC3 Engine
The EV gets its juice from a 29.2kWh battery pack, which powers the 57 PS/143Nm electric motor. The setup has a claimed ARAI range of 320km. It can go from 0 to 60kmph in 6.8 seconds and has a top speed of 107kmph. A DC fast charger can top up its battery charge from 10% to 80% in 57 minutes, while a standard 15 amp plug will take 10.5 hours to fully replenish the battery from 10% charge.

• Electric motor warranty for 5 years or 1,00,000 km (whichever is earlier).
• Standard vehicle warranty for 3 years or 1,25,000 km (whichever is earlier) .
NOTE:
5 Year fuel saving is the result of daily saving multiplied by the number of days in a month (30 days), and the number of months in 5 years (60 months). Daily savings figure is calculated by subtracting Citroën ë-C3 daily energy cost (daily km driven, multiplied by cost of electricity required for full charge at Rs10 per kw/range of Citroen ë-C3) from daily fuel cost of an equivalent petrol vehicle, driven same km daily as Citroen ë-C3 (considering fuel economy of 15 kmpl, multiplied by the cost of petrol). This is an indicative savings figure, and your actual fuel savings will vary due to a number of factors, including driving condition, fuel economy of your vehicle, vehicle maintenance and electricity tariff in your city.
