The Nightingale of India, 92-year-old Lata Mangeshkar has been removed from ventilator support after about 19 days. She was admitted to the ICU at Breach Candy Hospital in Mumbai on January 8 after being infected with coronavirus.

According to Dr Pratit Samdani, Associate Professor of the hospital Dr Samadni and team are treating the legendary singer – said that a little improvement has been seen in her health and shed will be kept under observation in the ICU for 10-12 more days.

Maharastra health minister Rajesh Tope has been quoted in the media as saying: “I spoke to the doctors treating Lata ji. She is  recovering. She has defeated corona and pneumonia. She was on a ventilator earlier, but today. Her ventilator has also been removed. Now she is being given only oxygen. Lata ji has opened her eyes and is also talking to doctors. She has become a little weak due to corona, but now her health is improving.”
