The plot of Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan, whichreleased on April 21, showcases the eldest brother who refuses to marry since he believes it may create disharmony in his big family. His brothers, who’ve already found partners, come together to find a match for Salman Khan’s character. Pooja Hegde will be seen as Salman’s love interest and this is the first time that the two will be seen opposite each other.

Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan is said to be the Hindi remake of the Tamil feature Veeram, which starred Ajith in the lead role. Veeram was declared a box office success in its time. It chronicled the story of a man whose four younger brothers want him to get married so that they can settle down too. The film also stars Shehnaaz Gill, Raghav Juyal and Siddharth Nigam.

Review

Salman begins the trailer of the film with a Sanskrit verse. The romantic chemistry of Salman Khan and Pooja Hegde has been seen in the trailer. Once again Salman will be seen doing tremendous action for his love. Salman Khan is seen in two looks in the trailer. Salman has been seen showing Tashan in long hair, six pack abs.

The entire story of the film is woven around the love story of Pooja Hegde and Salman. The story of the film also has a south background. Fans are very fond of the trailer of the film.

Salman Khan is back with an action-packed emotional drama Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan. He is good in some scenes, especially in the second half. His dialogues with Venky and his performance in the emotional scenes are good.

Telugu star actor Victory Venkatesh gets a meaty role. His screen presence is so nice, and as said above, his scenes with Salman Khan are a feast to the eyes.

Pooja Hegde looks beautiful, and her performance is impressive. The rest of the cast is just okay. The emotional scenes worked to an extent. The metro fight and the goons attacking Venky’s house scenes are captured well. The production values are good, and so is the background score.

Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan trailer has glimpses of family emotions, comedy, romance, drama, music and of course, action. It solely rides on Salman Khan’s shoulders, who is known for pulling off such larger than life roles with family drama. The film has a strong Telugu connection with Venkatesh playing a key role as Pooja Hegde’s brother who belongs to the Telangana region. Jagapathi Babu is playing as the main antagonist in the film.

Ram Charan shines in a special song along with Salman and Venkatesh. The film even has a full-length Telugu Bathukamma song.

As an actor, Salman Khan is good, but if we consider his stardom, KKBKKJ is just a below-par film. It is unclear what made Salman choose the script that already failed when remade in Telugu and Kannada. At some point, one will wonder whether it is Salman’s film or Venky’s. There are such scenes that make one feel so.

The story lacks novelty, and one can easily predict the outdated script. A love scene comes in between two warning scenes, and at a point, audiences will say, “What’s happening?” The connectivity between the scenes is not established well.

Jagapathi Babu, the antagonist who seeks revenge, should have been shown as a powerful villain. But his actions and dialogues remind us of 80s villains. Also, Bhumika Chawla has nothing to do in his film.

Some songs are good to listen to. Some of the song placements are inappropriate, and they are like hurdles to the story. The climax portion is so outdated, and the director could have written and executed it better.

One would think that the movie will have moments that are whistle-worthy. Unfortunately, Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan has not many such moments but has a few facepalm moments instead.

Farhad Samji, Sparsh Khetarpal, and Tasha Bhambra made a few changes to the script, and they are fine. However, they should have taken more care of Salman’s character because his fans expect something special from him.

On the whole, Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan is not an honest remake of Veeram. The mediocre plot and outdated scenes make it a boring fare. Except for a few emotional scenes and Salman’s performance, the movie has nothing new to offer. You may skip this film and find a better option for this weekend.

Salman Khan’s grand comeback
It was in 2019, Salman Khan appeared as the main hero on the big screen with Dabangg 3. After that, he did Radhe, which practically had no theatrical release and directly arrived on OTT. Then, he was seen in an extended cameo in Antim alongside Aayush Sharma. Again, he was seen in a cameo in Chiranjeevi’s Godfather. He was last seen in Shah Rukh Khan’s Pathaan in a cameo role as Tiger and set the theatres on fire.

So, logically speaking, Salman Khan in a full-fledged role is making a big-screen comeback after 3 long years. Also, as Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan arrives on Eid, the superstar’s comeback is expected to be huge.

Production
Development

Director Farhad Samji initially sought to remake the 2014 Tamil film Veeram as Bachchhan Paandey (previously titled Land of Lungi) with Akshay Kumar. As Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment held the remake rights of both the films, Samji tweaked Veeram’s story and pitched to Salman Khan who accepted the film. Later, Nadiadwala walked out of the project and gave the rights to Khan, who then decided to make the film under his banner Salman Khan Films.

The film was announced on  January 10, 2020 with the title Kabhi Eid Kabhi Diwali. However, it was later postponed for a longtime and suffered numerous pre-production delays due to the COVID-19 pandemic, and later it was revived with the reported title Bhaijaan.
