Covid cases in India continue to grow at a fast pace. Following up on a recent 90% jump, gteh country reported 2,067 new Covid cases in the last 24 hours, a further 65 per cent jump.

Covid cases in India continue to grow at a fast pace. Following up on a recent 90% jump, gteh country reported 2,067 new Covid cases in the last 24 hours, a further 65 per cent jump. According to the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, the country’s active caseload stood at 12,340.

Delhi alone has an active caseload of 1,947, while Haryana has 1,125 active Covid cases at present. Masks are being made mandatory again.

The scary part is that the number of deaths reported in the last 24 hours reached 40. These included 32 backlog deaths added by Kerala.

The daily positivity rate was recorded at 0.49 per cent today. The weekly positivity rate currently stands at 0.38 per cent.

In view of rising covid cases across the nation, Rajesh Bhushan, union health secretary has directed five states Delhi, Haryana, Mizoram, Uttar Pradesh and Maharashtra to continue monitoring the spread of infection and undertake required steps for prompt and effective management of Covid-19.

1,547 Covid patients recovered from the disease in the last 24 hours. The total number of recoveries jumped to 4, 25, and 13,248 since the beginning of the pandemic in the country. The recovery rate currently is at 98.76 per cent. The cumulative Covid vaccine doses administered across the country reached 186.90 crore.The country has conducted over 83.29 crore covid tests till date, while 4.21 lakh tests were conducted in the last 24 hours.
