This year, World Accreditation Day will be celebrated with the theme Accreditation: Sustainability in Economic Growth and the Environment.

World Accreditation Day came into existence in 2007 with the collaborative efforts of the International Laboratory Accreditation Cooperation (ILAC) and the International Accreditation Forum (IAF). The first World Accreditation Day was celebrated in 2008.

As years passed by, the day has touched upon various qualities of accreditation, including the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and improving food quality.
