Lawyer Amit Palekar is AAP’s CM face for Punjab

Having already named Bhagwant Mann as the Aam Admi Party’s (AAP) chief ministerial face in Punjab, the party’s national convener Arvind Kejriwal today named lawyer Amit Palekar as AAP’s CM face for Goa.

Palekar is comes from the Bhandari community. Kejriwal told the media that as a student, despite being a topper, Palekar did not get a government job, because of rampant corruption in Goa. Palekar was the one who exposed the “job scam.”

Palekar tweeted: “I have come a long way. Had my father been alive today, he’d have been very proud.”

Punjab
Yesterday, Mann, the party’s Punjab president and Lok Sabha member, Bhagwant Mann was named as the state’s CM face for AAP. Kejriwal said the decision as taken on “public opinion” through a mobile phone poll. He said 21,59,437 people had expressed their opinion and 93.3% people preferred Bhagwant Mann.

Interestingly, the system of callback, was not an objective type system and there was no option for names. Hence, interestingly, state Congress chief Navjot Singh Sidhu came out as the second choice with 3.6% votes.

In 2014 Mann became the MP from the Sangrur constituency. His nickname is Jugnu. He was a Comedy King. He was a famous Punjabi comedian and also had a career as a politician. He and fellow comedian Kapil Sharma both competed in a popular television comedy contest called The Great Indian Laughter Challenge.

In 2016 Mann was found guilty of video-recording of Parliament’s security structure and has been suspended from the rest of the ongoing Winter Session.

He was born on October 17, 1973 in Satoj village, Sangrur district, Punjab, India. He was a College Dropout, He has done B.Com. (I Year).

Uttarakhand
On August 18, Kejriwal had announced that retired Colonel Ajay Kothiyal will be the party’s chief ministerial face for the state. Colonel Kothiyal joined AAP in April this year. He is the former principal of Uttarkashi-based Nehru Institute of Mountaineering. He is also known for his commendable work in the aftermath of the Kedarnath disaster. He now runs an institute where he trains local youths and motivates them to join the armed forces. A well-known mountaineer, he has climbed Mount Everest twice.
